AFRICA IS NOT AN OCEAN AWAY. Today it is possible to experience in one place the magnificence of our exotic natural world … without having to travel hours away from your hotel.

Exotic endangered African species roam free sharing a 250 acre cage-less territory of savannah, forest, rivers and rocky hills approaching the sights, sounds and smells of Africa.

Tempisque Safari

Visiting this amazing place is an unforgettable experience, because you can observe and photograph an impressive variety of wild animals in their natural habit. You can also feed and touch many of them. The information given about these animals teach you about their lifestyle and habits. The Tempisque Safari is a wildlife refuge, committed to the reproduction and exhibition of wild animals, some of them in danger of extinction. We presently have groups of animals native to Costa Rica, as well as other that have been raised in our refuge to offer our visitors the opportunity to observe, learn and enter in contact with them.

Tempisque Safari

Usted tiene la oportunidad de alimentar y hasta tocar a muchos de ellos. Se le brinda información de estos animales que le explican sobre los estilos de vida y hábitats. Tempisque Safari es un refugio de vida Silvestre comprometido a la reproducción y exhibición de animales, algunos de ellos en peligro de extinción.
Actualmente tenemos grupos de animales nativos de Costa Rica, como otros que han crecido en el refugio para ofrecer a nuestros visitantes la oportunidad de observarlos, que aprendan y que entren en contacto con ellos.

Hacienda Guachipelin
One Day Tour

This tour takes place in the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, which has different kinds of activities that other tours do not offer. In this tour you will be able to practice 5 different activities: Canopy, Rock Climbing, Rappelling, Tarzan Rope jump and Swinging bridges. Our tour operators with safety precaution will harness you up with all the equipment needed
After the canopy we will be going for typical lunch at the ranch, followed by tubing down one of the rivers for one hour and thirty minutes.

Nevertheless, we will horse back ride through the tropical dry forest where you can see different kinds of trees, birds, monkeys and toucans. We will hike up to the waterfall where you can go swimming. Then, after enjoying a cool fun bath, we will horse back ride over to the relaxing hot springs and mud bath. Finally to end the tour we ride back to main entrance where the bus awaits to transport you back to your hotel.

Palo Verde National Park

Driving throughout the scenic Sabanero (Cowboy) Country, you will arrive to enjoy a two-hour cruise along the river that has the nearest access to the famous Palo Verde National Park.

This river is one of most important rivers of Costa Rica because times ago, the Tempisque was used to transport sugar cane, fruits, beef, and was a line of transportation. In addition, the river is considered one of the largest bird sanctuaries in Central America. Also, the Tempisque river possess the largest amount of birdlife, including aquatic birds. Floating down the river you will be able to see different species of birds like cattle egrets, herons, flycatchers, ospreys, and kingfisher. Other than birds, monkeys enjoy to climb and eat leaves and fruit from the trees along the river. The respected crocodiles and six feet iguana sit on rocks to warm up under the sun. The tour ends with a delicious typical Costa Rican meal.

Colorado River Rafting

In this activity, first time paddlers will be delighted with this wet and exciting experience combined with lush riverside scenery. These tours run on rafts while experienced tour guides supervise the path travel in whitewater kayaks.

This sport takes opens up the heart of the Colorado River and displays a scenic view of the flat lands of Guanacaste.

The tour goes down the Colorado River for about an hour and forty-five minutes, in class type II and III. Experienced guides will provide all the necessary instructions and precautions. Come for the water rush and get water splashed!

RINCON DE LA VIEJA HIKING

This natural hike up the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano National Park will show you ponds of bubbling mud, steamy sulfur water ponds, and fumaroles in a distance of 2 miles through the jungle. The guide will show and name you almost every animal and plant specie that is seen through the hike.

ARENAL

Enjoy a guided drive through some extraordinary pastoral landscapes and quaint villages. As you approach the volcano, the view of the rainforest along Lake Arenal and its surrounding of what’s to come…

When visiting the Forest Reserve, the wonders of the rain forest are exposed and introduced to you. Arenal has one of the most complex ecosystems on earth and our naturalist tour guide will point out the most interesting plants and trees during the hike. Early in the evening, we will continue to the Tabacon hot springs, where you can swim in 8 different pools, and warm waters flow by. The tour ends with a buffet dinner at the restaurant in Tabaccon Resort, where if the season is given, and we are lucky, hot red lava might be seen flowing out of the volcano.

MONTEVERDE CLOUD FOREST

This tour takes place in one of the most beautiful spots in Costa Rica: Monteverde.  Quaker farmers from Alabama found out about this area and settled here. Its location is worldwide known for its spectacular views and landscapes, coffee plantations and one of the most exciting birds in the world: the well known QUETZAL. We offer a series of different activities that will be done in Monteverde once we arrive there:

Canopy tour
Get ready for the canopy ride… Fifteen cables and eighteen platforms also including the “Tarzan Swing”. Afterwards, we put on our rock climbing gear, and climb up to the airborne above the cloud forest. It will be the best ride of your life!Afterwards we take off for a nice relaxing lunch, and prepare for the next activity.

The sky walk
This activity is done on nine suspension bridges above the treetops where you can feel the mist in your face. You will be able to observe from this high point different kinds of ferns, orchids, massive trees and listen to the songs that different birds tune.

Hummingbird & Butterfly Garden
A knowledgeable guide will give you a thorough introduction on the insects and a large number of butterflies in the garden. You will have a great time by learning about this unique and complex world. You will see why Monteverde is considered ´THE VIRGIN CLOUD FOREST COSTA RICA¨.
